GOLF.

NEW BRIGHTON CLUB. A meeting- of the New Brighton Golf Club was held on Thursday evening- in the Schoolroom. Mr D. Craig occupied the chair. Correspondence was read from the Drainage Board 1 covering the general terms of the agreement for leasing the Board's lands south of Breeze's Road, the rent to be 10s per acre per annum for thirty or forty acres. The letter was received. The secretary submitted the proposed rules of the club, which were, on the motion of Mr C. W. Roberts, formally adopted. It was also unanimously agreed that the club should bo registered, On the motion of Mr Roberts it was decided to adopt as the club's colours a red blazer with black and gold lettering. The chairman said that if the intention to open the links on Easter Monday were carried out it would be necessary to push ahead with the arrangements, as there was a Erent deal of clearing* to be done. It was decided to employ special labour at once. The chairman also announced that Mr IV. Congreve had expressed the intention of presenting a set of cups to the club. Arrangements were made with ons of the members to furnish a plan for a proposed pavilion. The secretary reported that the roll of members was increasing rapidly.
