SHIPPING CASUALTIES.

THE KIWI INQUIRY. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, March 16. In the nautical inquiry regarding the capsize of the cutter Kiwi, Mr C. C. Kettle, S.M., said that it was the opinion of the Court that the cutter capsized because it was overloaded above the water-line, but until the regulations were issued dealing with this class of vessel the Court could do nothing more than say that the accident was caused by an excess of deck cargo. The damage done was not sufficient to allow the Court to deal with the master's certificate, but as ho was responsible for the overloading he was ordered to pay the costs of the inquiry.
