ROAD BOARDS.
MOUNT PEEL. The Mount Peel Road Board met on Saturday; present —Messrs G. J. Denuistoun (chairman), E. Harris, R. Thow and J'. Dixon. On the motion of tho chairman it was resolved to .send a letter of condolence to Mrs Dugald Macfa rlane on the death of her husband, who had hold the position of clerk to the Board for many years. Mr Dennist'Oun spoke very highly of the late Mr Macfarlano. and Messrs Tlicnv and Dixon supported the chairman's remarks. The chairman stated that the formalities in connection with the formation of tho now road district were being carried out. •Mr "\\\ A. Hewson, lessee of Lot 2.3, 'Tripp Settlement, applied to have a surveyed road' formed and metalled to give him access to the land. The clerk was instructed to reply that the Land Board had been asked.to make tho road, as it was laid off by the Board when cutting 'up the estate. It was reported that the receipts for the month had been—Government subsidy £162 ISs lid,, rates £l4 9s 6d, total £177 8s sd. Payments were authorised amounting to £428 4s Bd.
