At a meeting- *of the committee of _ the Manawatu Racing Club on Saturday night, a rcso.ution was carried eliminating- hurdlo race 3 from the -Christmas meetings, on tho ground of the hardness of tho going;, the number of accidents, and the necessity for uniformity of hurdles. The resolution will have effect till uniform hurdles are adopted by tho conference. It was also decided that the Wauganui Jcckey Club shou.d be asked to call a meeting of all the clubs in its metropolitan area with a view to mutually arranging- for a. possible reduction of the drys of racing to comp.y with the desire of Parliament.
