Vkaleks.—-Uiere was a good yarding of fat calves, all classes being M-ell represented. These met with the customary demand front the l trade, pricesranging from 4s 6d for immature animals to £3 17s lor tli© best sorts.

Fat Shicki'.—Fat slieep were yarded in moderate numbers, and tho sale opened at prices a shade easier than at the previous market. The quality all sound was good, the yarding comprising a fairly large proportion of sheeo. Fat Lamns.—The fat lambs which caino forward numbered 851, against 937 last week and 600 a fortnight ago. Tho lambs were of a very good class and the demand was fairly free, and prices were fully equal to those ruling at the previous sale. Prices ran get I. from lis (3d to 17s 9d, a few of extra good quality making to 19s. Freezing buyers took 490 and butchers 71, the balance being passed. Sales were:— For Gardiner Bras. (West Eyreton), 20 at 16s 7d to 19s; W. S. Jamieson (i'endarvis), 11 at 17s Od; W. Reed (Darfield), 41 at 15s 9d to 15s 10d; Mrs Rutherford (IJrackendalo), 282 at 15s 7d to 16s 3d; A. Black (Waikari), 45 at 13s Id to lis Id; D. Mulholland (Darfield). 119 at 12s Ud.

iStohi: fc>HJ£Ki\—The yarding of store sheep showed a very substantial increase compared with the previous week, and all classed were represented. There* were more ewes than at some recent sales, a smaller proportion of hoggets, and a lair number of wethers, including a pen of merinoes. The civet; wertj of- varied classes, but mostly fail'ing to sound-mouth sorts, but included ono specially good lino of two-tooth three-quarter-breds. Tho wethers were of au oven class, while the hoggets varied from small and medium sorts to good average lines, and included several pens of ewe hoggets. Throughout the sale was a,good one, although towards the close the bidding was scarcely as brisk as at tho opening, and several lines of hoggets were passed, although at prices which were apparently well up to market values. All sound-mouth owes sold very well indeed, but failing-month lines did not sell equally well, even making allowance for ages. The demand for wethers was about on a par with that of the previous week. At the opening of the sale hoggets sold at an advance on recent rates, but came back to former prices before the sale closed. Two-tooth three-quarter-bred ewes made to 19s 3d, sound-mouth half-breds of a good class to 16s Id, other soundmonth lines 123 co 14s Id, sis and eighttooth cross-breds to 18s Id, two, four and six-tooth lines (.small and mixed) 13s i>d, aged and inferior to soundmout.h Ss"6d to lis tkl. Ewe hoggets of a good sort made lis l(3d to lus Id, medium 13s Btl, mixed sexes (fair to good) 10s iOd to 12s 9d, small 9s to 9s 6d, wether hoggecs (small to inferior) 9s 10(1 to ll.s, good to 13s 9d. Wethers made 14s. 4d to 15s. Id, and merino wethers 8s 4d. Pigs.—Only a medium entry of pi<:s came forward, and the demand for all classes was slightly better than at last week's sale, lint prices were unchanged.
