ARREST OF CRIPPEN AND HIS COMPANION. United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 26. The "Daily Express" states that the fugitives were overheard talking about their escape. ' Both were arrested on Saturday and guarded in separate cabins. I Crippen was deprived of a revolver and ! a penknife. The girl Le Neve wept i and offered to make a-statement to the police. Crippen demanded _to know what offence he was charged with., and was told that he had contravened the law by representing that his companion ivas a boy and giving a false name. \ The " Chronicle " gays that Crippen Was very loisurely in his movements in Belgium. He affected to be in no hurry tb sail, and pretended that he wished bo sail on the Montrose's next voyage on August 31. He arranged to pay in August, but learning that no doubleberth cabin i would be available in August, decided to go immediately, and arranged to pay extra for such accommodation.
