Grain.—Wheat—The markets are dull; American lower, with little demand, and Continental showing little prospect of improvement while the present liberal shipments continue; 38s 9d is asked for New South Wales February, 39s 6d for South Australian and Victorian steamer January; 39s 9d has been paid for steamer parcels afloat, and 38s lid for Australian March-April. Flour is quiet, A failquantity of Australian afloat and March shipment sold at about 28s, c.i.f., London. Butter.—The market is very firm. Colonial arrivals have all been cleared: Australian, choicest 120s, occasionally 1235; secondary, scarce, 116s to 118s; New Zealand, 122s to 1245, secondary 113s; Danish, 128s to 130s; Argcntiuo, 120s to 1225. Cheese.—The market is dull. New Zealand coloured, 58s to 595; white, 59s to 60s. Sugar.—German, 14s 4d; first marks, 16s 4d. WOOL. Bradford Market.—The Bradford wool market is quiet but firm. Merinoes are occasionally a shade higher. Sheepskins.—At the sales 4850 were offered. There was an average attendance, with good, competition. Longwoolled skins were at par to 4/1 • advance. Less demand was shown for short-woolled, which wero at par to |d dearer. METALS. Silver.—ls 11-;jd per ounce. Copper.—On spot, £BO lis 3d per ton; three months', £6l 8s 9d per ton; electrolytic, £62 15s per ton. Tin.—On spot, £149 "l7s 6d per tou; three months', £l5O 10s per ton. Iron.—£2 lis 8d per ton.
