A DOLLAR BILLIONAIRE. The financial expert of the New York "World" has ben spending some spare hours in estimating the futuYe wealth df Mr Rockefeller. He says that in 1919, when the millionaire will enter upon his eightieth year, Mr Rockefeller will be worth £200,000,000. There seems little doubt that the estimate will be justified. Standard Oil stock is now selling at 712, the highest price reached since the panic of 1907: Despite enormous donations to charities and educational institutions, Mr Rockefeller's wealth continues to increase. In 1905 lie was estimated to be worth £110,000,000. He should be a dollar billionaire in 1914 — the first in the history of America. Of course, the personal wealth of the multi-millionaire in no way represents the financial interests in which Mr Rockefeller is the controlling spirit. • In 1906, Mr Lewis Emery, then a candidate for the Governorship of Pennsylvania, . detailed the various concerns in which the millionaire was the director. , They included-^- . ■■■•...■ Insurance companies . . £280,000,0p0 Railroads . . . . £500,000,000 Traction and transportation . . £32,000,000 Gas and electric power . . £22,000,000 The grand total of the combined capitalisation was £1,313,120,000. . It all sounds very awe-inspiring. But the world can be assured that when* Mr Rockefeller goes his wealth and influence will alike dissipate themselves. Mr R.
