PERSONAL.

The Hon T. Ngata left for the .south by the -second express this morning. Mr E. Clifton, Director of Farms, went south this morning. Mr It. E. Alexander, the newly appointed director of the Lincoln Agricultural College, arrived in Wellington by the Rimutaka to-day. He was manager and resident instructor at Albert College, Glasnevin, Ireland. In an interview he -said that in the matter of practical education in dairy methods Ireland leads New Zealand.

The National Bank has received advice by cable that the vacancy on the Board caused by the death of Mr Colin G. Roes, on April 16, has been filled by the appointment of the Hon _W. P. Reeves, the late High Commissioner.
