HAWKE'S BAY JOCKEY CLUB. [Per Press Association.] HASTINGS, May 5. The sky is overcast, but the weather is fine, and there is a large attendance. Fifteen bookmakers have been licensed. The following are the results: —

LONGLANDS HACK HURDLE HANDICAP, of 100 sovs; one mile and three-quar-ters—North Head, lOst 51b, 1; Nero, 9st, 2; Corazon, Oat 131b, 3. Commander, Nadine and Prince Hassan were scratched. North Head led from the start and won by five lengths, Corazon a close third. Peregrine feil. Time — Smin 18 2-ssec.

MAIDEN HACK RACE, of 100 sovs; five furlong-— Bridge, 7.t 7ib, lj King's Prize, Sst slb, 2; Cork, Bst slb, 3. Claughton was scratched. Won all the way by a neck { half a length between second and third. Time — Imin 16 2-ssec.

NURSERY HANDICAP, of 150 sovs; fivo furlongs— Xylophone, Sst 7lb, 1; Golden Water, 7st 81b. 2.', Boanerge3, Ist 18lb, 3. Ambala was scratched. A splendid start. The winner led all the way and won by a length and a half, two lengths betweeu second and third. Time— lmin 2 2-ssec.

PORANGAHAU HANDICAP, of 200 bovb; six furlongs— Bobrikoff, 9st lllb, 1; Gold Thread, Bst 31b, 2; Sunbonnet, 7st 121b, 3. Captain Jingle was scratched. Gold Thread got the best of the start. Bobrikoff was last entering the straight, where Gold Thread wa-3 still leading. Bobrikoff ran through his field at the distance, caught Gold Thread, and, going on, won by a length, the same distance between second and third. Time- — Imin 14sec.

HAW-KE'S BAY CUP, of 450 .sovs; ono mile and a half— Tangimoana, Bst Blb, 1; Master Soult, Bst 12lb. 2; California, Bst -121b, 8. Won by a lengtn, a good race between second and third. Time— 2min 38J_ec.
