/ Friday. Proceedings this morning were uninteresting 1 . Fanny Free galloped half a mile. OrBino compassed two circuits, finishing strongly down the straight. Zetland cantered round to the half-mile post, whence he was allowed to run home at a strong three-quarter • speed. The following horses performed half io threequarter pacing: — Husbandman, Flitaway, Sharpshooter, Ghiarinian, Whietlecraft, Claymore, Chief Lochiel, The Cingalee and Petrovna. Medium to steady pacing was accomplished by the following horses:— Tiki tere, Alexis. Broadsword,' Bountiful, Ability, Ploughshare, Zemlia, Ingoda, Pallada and Lady Disdain. Prim was out, and performed trotting and cantering exercise in the middle. Gold Thread and Gold Treasure were down from Yaldhurst. Both horses started out to negotiate a circuit on the plough, but at the . top turn the former was pulled off on to the No. 2 grass track, and finished up from there at three-quarter speed. Gold Treasure completed « circuit on the plough at half speed. Both horses are looking well. After breakfast the only gallop of interest was that performed by Sea King (L. G. K'r, who, assisted by Hesperus over the last half mile, galloped six furlongs on the No. 2 grass track in lmin 20sec. He appeared to be tiring a" good deal at the finish, and his effort was not a pleasing one. Half to steady pacing was practically all that was accomplished by the remainder of the horses out exercising. • The North Canterbury Jockey Club's meeting will be held on the Eangjora racecourse to-morrow, and, «s good fields are engaged in all the events, there is every indication of mo meeting being a successful one. A special train will leave Christchurch at 9.40 a.m., returning after the .• last race, and reaching' Christchurch at 8.30 p.m. ' Mr G-. F. Moore's horses Signor and Carissima arrived back from Sydney this week, and were -sent straight on from Wellington Ito their irainer's stables at Wanganui. Signor pulled up lame after a ?allop at Eandwick, and is to be blistered and given a spell, but his trainer expects to have him. I ready for Taring again in the spring.
