. Tiie chief attraction, apart from the seven-a-side games, Avas the meeting of Merivale A and Linwood A and the match between Sydenham A and Cliristohurcli A. a passing rush Walls crossed the lino, th© kick being fruitless. Christchurch then attacked strongly, but Deacon, at five-eighths, was selfish, and threw away good chances. From a further rush Clements scored again for Sydenham. Hobbs converted, and the spell ended with Sydenham eight, Christchurch nil. Playing with the wind in tho second spell, Christchurch attacked for some time. 'About half-way through the spell Hayes got the ball from a loose rush and scored Sydenham's third trj-. On resuming Christchurch attacked, and Barrell, after a fine run, got over, time being called with tlie score Sydenham eleven, Christchurch three. Mr Hooper was referee. In tha game between Linwood A and Merivale A, Merivale kicked off with the wind and took play to the Linwood line, where, from a good forward rush, Dclamar& scored. Merivale kept up the attack and Delaware potted a goal. Linwood were still being hard pressed, and from a fine dribbling rush Sergison crossed the line, Simpson converting. Linwood attacked for a whilo, but Merivale soon got out of danger by eood line-kicking. A passing rush on the blind side enabled Sandman to get over,' the soell ending with Merivale fifteen points, Linwood nil. * Playing with the v/id iv tho second spell Linwood attacked strongly at timos, but failed to cross the Merivale line. Towards the end of the spell Payne kick- ' ed a nenaltv goal. This was sooft balanced" by Mitchell scoring from a fine passing rush amongst the Merivale backs, the game ending Merivale eighteen points, Linwood three. Mr C. Buchanan was referee. Christchurch B defeated Belfast by six points to three. For the winners H Lunfford scored a try and Barrel! kicked a" penalty goal. Halliaan scored a try for tho losers. Mr W. Templeton was referee. , Playing on the school groiina, Richmond' defeated Boys' High School by fourteen points to eleven. For .the winners, tries were scored by Hood, Shadrack and Brown. Cross converted one try and kicked a penalty goal. Pattison *2) and Crawshaw (1) scored tries for School, Bain converting Crawshaw.'s. Richmond relied mainly on their forwards, who played a fine game, preventing the School backs from passing continually. Mr R. Cochrane waE I*6 f GVGG. Sydenham B and Merivale B played a drawn game, each side scoring three points. King scored for Sydenham. Mr E. Dennis was referee. Flaring on College ground, Kaiapoi defeated Christ's College by eleven points to three. Rutherford kicked a goal from a mark for the losers. Mr A. H. Noall was referee. Christchurch C defeated Sumner by eight points to three Mr D. Woodwas referee.
