Sir George Goldie, the president, remarked that the most notable event of the year was Lieutenant Shackleton's resumption of antarctic work. M. Charcot's expedition would start in August to explore between King Edward VII. Land and Graham Land; Dr Bruce was trying to arrange an expedition, and otherß were in contemplation.
