LYTTELTON.

Messrs S. R. Webb, tho retiring Mayor, and Mr Colin Cook, a -member of the Borough Council, were the candidates for the Mayoral chair of Lyttelton, and the Town Clerk. Mr G.A. Lewin, acted as returning' officer. The polling took place at the Colonists Hall, and though the contest occasioned a good deal of interest, the proceedings at the polling-booth were decidedly tame. The- voting was, however, fairly large, a steady stream of burgesses passing in and out of the doors during the day. ____________
