ARBITRATION COURT.

SITTING IN CHRISTCHURCH. The Arbitration Court sat in the Provincial Council Chambers yesterday. I CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION. Hugh Wilson (Mi* Upham) claimed £300 from George Knight, , contractor, of New Plymputh\ (Mr A. H. Johnstone), ac compensation for the death of his son, William Henry Wilson. The deceased had been, employed by respondent on railway deviatitoli works at New Plymouth, and had been accidentally run over by a* laden truck, death resulting from his injuries. Prior to , death the son had been contributing at the rate of 10s per week towards the support of his mother and sisters, his father being in* ill-health. The . case had been opened in New Plymouth, and had been adjourned to Christchurch in order that further evidence might be heard. ■ Alice Wilson, mother of deceased, gave evidence to the effect that the deceased had sent her 10s per week regularly after leaving home in 1905, and prior to that had given her 15s per week from his wages. The accident had occurred in January, 1907. . ' Alice Wilson, Sybil Wilson and Wilson, sisters of deceased, gave corroborative evidence. " After counsel had addressed the Court, his Honor reserved judgment.
