A man named Orchard, who was arrested for throwing a box of dynamite do wji the shaft of the Extended Hustler Mine, which wrecked the cage, made an unsuccessful attempt to strangle himself in his cell. (It was^ reported* from Bendigo that a young 'man who was refused work threw a case of dynamite down the Extended Hustler Mine shaft. There was no explosion, but tlie cage wae wrecked.)
