THE EXHIBITION.
THE TRAVELLING FACILITIES FOR TECHNICAL STUDENTS. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, January 30. A deputation from the Wellington Industrial Association this morning urged the Acting-Premier to assist advanced pupils at technical schools to attend the Exhibition, for . its educational value. . The Hon W. Hall-Jones, replying, remarked on the value of a visit to the Exhibition to both old and young, and said he believed it was a good idea that an opportunity should be afforded for all the young people in the colony of seeing what they might not have a chance of seeing for possibly ten or fifteen years. He had already provided for school children travelling om th« railways to the Exhibition' at a rate of two" shillings for one hundred miles, while accommodation at the Exhibition was" provided for them at two shillings 'a day. He would see if they could do the same for apprentices, and whether the' Government could do anything by way of a subsidy. The public, would have to look forward to a deficit on the Exhibition, and for his part he did not wish to draw too heavily on the public purse by providing too great facilities for visiting the Exhibition. He would consult the Minister of Education and the Minister in Charge of the Exhibition, and see what could be done. PARAGRAPH ANNOUNCEMENTS..
