BOWLING.

NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. EXHIBITION TOURNAMENT. The bowlers who are engaged in the New Zealand Bowling Association's Exhibition tournament were tromewhat alarmed this morning for the success of the day which is, from many points of view, the most important of the tournament. To-day is the " c Ladies' Day," and good weather is, of course, essential, co that bowlers had good reason to be anxious when a cold south-west " buster " and an occasional brief shower greeted their waking hour. Onoe more, however, their gjood fortune aeserted itself, and though it may have been tempting Fate to delay the Ladies' Day until the fifth day of a remarkably fine-weather tournament, the penalty they paid wae a comparatively light one. A heavy hailstorm just uefore two o'clock clearly diminished the attendance, but had little effect on the play, only making the greens a little less keen than before. The morning's play -was confined to the Christchurch and Canterbury greens, where the Doubles tournament was continued and the first games of the jinglehanded championship were played. Many bowlers being disengaged, there 1 was a large attendance of spectators at the Canterbury green. The Ladies' Day match, North v. South Island, of sixteen rinks a side, was begun at 2.30 ; p.m. on the Canterbury 'green. The following were the results :— j DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP. Third Bound.
