Friday, January 18. (Before Mr V. G. Day, S.M.) Drunkenness. — Two first offenders were each fined ss, in default twentyfour hours' imprisonment. — William Henry Fisher was sentenced to three months' imprisonment on a charge ot being an habitual drunkard. The Erring Cyclist.— Alfred Morgan, Elizabeth Phillips and Frederick Ferguson were each fined 10s and costs for riding bicycke along footpaths,--Charles Beswiok was fined 20s and costs for riding a bicycle at night without a light attached.— For similar offences Nellie Wickham was fined 10s and costs, and Frederick Williams was convicted and discharged. Driving Over Crossings. — Charges of driving over crossings at other than a walking pace preferred against Richard: Atkinson and A. W. Owlee (Mr Dougall) were dismissed. — Nicholas Oatos was fined 20s and costs for a similar offence. Obscene Langttage. — Michael Sheehan was sentenced to two months' imprisonment for using obscene language in a public place on January 17, and for a similar offence on January 11 was sentenced to three months' . imprisonment with hard labour. Indecency. — For indecent behaviour George Sinclair was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment with hard labour. Remanded.— William Kirk, charged with having been found helplessly drunk, was remanded to January 25. Dismissed. — A charge of using obecene language witidn hearing of pass-ers-by, preferred against an old woman, was dismissed.
