i ' ♦ — | CHRISTCHURCH. j Satckday, August 18. I (Before Mr V. G. Day, S.M.) I Dbuxkenkess. — A female first offender, charged with having been, drunk, was convicted and discharged, and a man similarly charged wa& fined 6s, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. — Thomas M'Kee was charged with having been drunk on the railway station platform, and. Krith having done wilful damage there to the extent of 7s 6d. He was fined 10s on the first charge, convicted on the second, and ordered to make good the damage. Theft. — John Brown Johnston, charged on remand on two counts with the theft of horse feed and harness at Sumnor, was sentenced. His Worship said that, even had fhe Probation Officer reported favourably, he would not admit a thieving servant to probation. Accused, was fined 40s on one charge, and convicted and discharged on the other.
