The Minister of Agriculture fo* Queensland, in .an interview with Mr Deakin^ pointed out the serious position which would arise after December 31, when the Kanaka agreements become inoperative. No provision has been made for the maintenance, pending deportation, of six thousand~Jßlanakas, who will be debarred from work.
