LOVERS' ROMANTIC FLIGHT.
GIRL CARRIED OFF FROM -HER MOTHER'S SIDE. Under romantic circumstances a g*rl of eighteen, living with her parents at' Breuille-Sec, in the department of Oise, France, was, on April 12, abducted by her lover. The girl and her mother were returning on foot from the town of Clermont to their home when they heard behind them on the road the sound of carriage, wheels. A landau, drawn by two fast horses, dr&w up beside them. Its sole occupant, a man of about twenty-seven, leaped out, brushed past the elder woman, seized the girl, and pushed her towards the carriage, the daughter showing herself quite complaisant. y The road was empty, and the mother's cries for help brought no answer. Leaping back to his seat, the young man whipped, up his horses, and in a few minutes the eloping lovers were out of sight.
