LONDON, May 12. Mr Arnold-Forster will be unable to receive the Northampton deputation which will enter London to-day. (A cablegram published on May 11 stated that Northampton makers of army boots had struck for higher wages. One hundred operatives were marching to London to interview Mr ArnolcUPorater, Secretary of State for War. Mr Arnold-Forster ordered an expert inquiry into the current rate of wages at Northampton, in connection with the various -processes of boot manufacture.)
