M'Grath and Priest, holders of the Senior Double Sculls Championship, won the Double Sculls very easily. Queen's Drive scored in the Maiden Fours, and Port Chalmers in the Junior Fours and the Maiden Pairs. The Four-oared Championship of Otago resulted — Port Chalmers 1, Queen's Drive 2, Otftgo Bowing Club 3. WANGANUI KEG ATT A. [Per Press Association.] WANGANUI, December 27. The river was as calm as a mill-pond this morning for the regatta. The attendance was large, and groat interest was taken in the various events. For the Maiden Fours, Napier, Nelson, "VYaitemata, Star (Wellington) and three local crews started. Waitemata soon took the lead, and rowed home two and a half lengths to the good, Nelson three-quarters of a length ahead of Wanganui Union. Webb, winner of the Single Scull Championship of New Zealand in 1902, had no difficulty in placing a dozen lengths between himself and two other local competitors in the Senior Sculls. The Senior Fours was won by Wanganui Union, who finished three lengths ahead of Wellington Stars, the enly other crew (Aramoho) being many lengths behind. In the Maidfin Pairs ATJimoho defeated Wanganui Rowing Club by four lengths. In the Junior Fours six boats started, and after a magnificent race Wellington Star, after rowing neck and neck with Wanganui Union, got the judge's verdict by a yard, Nelson third. Waitemata, Aratnoho and Wanganui Rowing all being bunched. In the Senior Pairs, Wanganui Union rowed over the course, and was the only starter. In the Youths' Fours, Waaganui Union was first, Wanganui Rowing Club second.v and. Wellington Star third. In the Maori Canoe Race the Sash and Door Company's crew (twenty-three men) wan first and the Putiki Natives (twenty-four men) second. In the Maiden Double Sculls, > Wanganui Bowing Club was first and Aramoho second. In the Junior Fours, Wanganui Union was first, Waitomata second., and Wanjranui Rowing third. Two others started. Won by five lengths. The Senior Clinker Fours resulted — Union 1, Star 2, Aramoho 8. Won by two lengths. Star was- half full of water, but rowed a splendid race. , ,
