AGRICULTURAL SHOWS,
♦ MANAWATU. [Per Press Association.] PALMERSTON NORTH, November 2. The nineteenth metropolitan $how of the Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association opened quietly to-day,; in overcast weather. After the rainfall of last night the exhibits t^ere not as forward as usual. Many visitors arrived! from the north and south last night, and: there promises to be the usual tax on the accommodation of the town. There is an (-specially fine display of rehide® and^ implements, and enterprisingbusiness representatives are very much n evider.ee. The prch^e, home industries, horticultural exhibits and works of art ani poultry were judged rather slowly this* morning. Pigs are being judged \tut r>fternoon. Tormorrow cattle, horses and sheep will be judged, and! Friday will be Peopled Day. So far; the principal pme•vrini.ers are-.— Poultry, J. H. Mantta.ii, J. B. Cox, E. H. Holland, W.
