PRESENTATIONS.
Mr .13. Priesteall haa 'beeii given a gold medal by the South Canterbury Boxing Association, Ashburton. Oil Friday evening, Miss Martha Chamberlain, on the eve of her marriage, was entertained at a social in the Amberley Town Hall 'by a number of friends. The i Rev W. B. Scott, oh behalf of the Temperance Society, gave the guest an afternoon tea service, and Mr Williams, representing the Wesleyan Sunday School Teachers and Scholars, gaive her a clock. At «. meeting of tie St Luke's branch of the Mother's Union yesfcefday afternoon a presentation, of an address, with, ai purge of Sovereigns iv as made to Mrs R. T. Matbfcws, who is leaving the parish. JiWi ing reference was made to tfie gtiod work done- 'by the recipient. Mr M. Brophy, Ashburton, who is retiring ifrom the railway service oh superannuation allowance, was given an easy ohaiir by his fellow workmen, on Saturday. Mrs Brophy also received a present.
