AUCKLAND v. CANTERBURY. The following team was chosen this morning to represent Canterbury against Auckland at Lancaster Park, on Saturday : — Full-back— C. Manning ; three-quarters — D. M'Gregor, E.D. Rioe and P. Menzies ; five-eighths— M. E- Wood x and R. G. Deans; half — P. Harvey; wing-forward — J. Roddick ; forwards — W. Duggan, J. Mahoney (Sydenham), B. Fanning, R. Cooke, L. Atkinson, G. "Matthews and G. .Evans. The Wellington Rugby Union's*' team left by the express this nrcrning and were cheered as the train left by local enthusiasts. .They- play Southland at Invercargill on Wednesday and Ofca.g'o at Dunedhi on Saturday. Just 'before tho teami left vie Zetland Hotel, where tihey hdve been .staying, ■whilst in Christchiurch., the manager, Mr D. M'Kenzie. on behalf of the team, thanked Mr E. Fox, the proprietor, and staff for* the kind attentions shown to the team and presented him with a framed photograph of the members of it.
