JILTED BRIDE'S SOLATIUM.
In, giving judgment in. an action brought by a young girl against her former sweetheart, the tribunal of Ghent, last month, while declining to treat the breach of promise as a punishable offence, awarded the plaintiff £8 damages i^respect of her purchase of a plot of land, a clothes-line and a ham, and also an order she had given to a dressmaker for a wedding gown.
