ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A man employed on the Midland Railway works was taken to the Hospital today suffering from injuries sustained by a fall. • . A man named - Frank Coyannett wast found at 9.30 a.m. to-day on the Lincoln Road with a large wound in his throat. H» informed Constable Ryan that the wound was self-inflicted by means of a knife. Ha was taken to the Christchurch Police Station, where Dr Thacker attended him, and then sent him to the Hospital. ■A man named R. Martin had a narrow escape from, very serious injury!, perhaps from death, when working at the Cathedral this morning. He was engaged at some stona work, and a large piece of stone, which had just been sawn through, fell against him. He was' thrown! to the ground, with the weight on top of him. His mates relieved him as soon as possible, and he was taken in a cab to the Hospital, where it was found that he had sustained Injuries to his back, but thef are not of a fatal nature. •,
