MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
♦ At the weekly meeting of. the Lyttelton Literary and Debating Society, held last night, an exceedingly good paper, on the life of Robert Burns, wasi read by Mr D. Jack, B.A. Mr J. W. M'Gregor presided, afnd some of Burns's lyrics were sung by Mrs Gilmore and Miss Lindsay, Miss Henderson playing the pianoforte accompaniments. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Jack, on the motion of Mr Gr. Laurenson, M.H.R.
