NEW PLYMOUTH, April 15. A man named George Cooper was seriously injured in the Mokau coal mine on Saturday. Ho was working in a narrow drive, when a. fall occurred, crushing hinii badly. His mates exbrioated him and medical aid was sent for. Dr Benpetb reached tihe spot on Monday affcornoon, and found that tlfe injured man had sustained severe injuries to his spine amd foot, aaid ordered him to be removed to tlie Hospital.
A rta-ty accident occurred to a lad named H. Sherlock, who was attending to the linotype machines at the "Lyttelbon Times" office* this aifternoon. As he was cleaning one of the machines t-hie forefinger; of his right hand was caught in a cog, and before he could extricate it the wheels had cut it> to the bone, leaving a portion hanging by the skin. The lad was .token to Dr Orchard'Sj where his injuries were attended to.
