Mr Tanner, a diver, after, visiting tkc wreck of the Elingasnite in the steamer Energy, on behalf of the 'London Salvage Compan)', }ias obtained some new diving gear, and leaves immediately to conlimie operations, which it is anticipated will pr&baibly result in the recovery of the lost specie. The Energy anchored immediately over* the wreck, and fixed the localrty by sinking a charge of dynamite, (he explosion bringing to the surface a portion of the wreck and much froth and corks indicating the breaking up of bottled liquor. Mr Tanner is reticent on certain points, but states that no difficulty was experienced in locating the wreck. He landed on am island in the immediate proximity of the wreck, and found several good landings. He expresses surprise that the whole "of the Elingamitc's people were not put ashore where the vessel -struck.
