• | FLOODS IN NELSON. [Per Press Association.] NELSON, June 24. Heavy rain has fallen almost continuously for a week, and the record in Nelson is 2.14 in. The rivers are in high flood, and in some placed have overflowed, but no damage is reported except at Takaka, where the township has been , practically under water for twelve hours. Communication has been cub off from the surrounding district, Avhere considerable injury and Lqss of stock is feared on the low-lying lands? At three o'clock tliis morning, when the flood was at its height, from eighteen inches to two or three feet of water was rushing down the main street, carrying with ib everything movable, including a stack of timber from the new hotel. In the Buller district the mail coaches have been considerably interfered with. There is a slight break in the weather this morning, but it is clouding up again.
