At the kauri gum sales 857 cases were offered and 450 cases sold, at from par to a five shillings advance. Three-quarters scraped fetched £125 per ton. The amount in stock is 1181 cases. . Frozen Mutton.— New Zealand sheep-and lambs have declined £d all round. River Plate cross-bred or merino wethers, heavy 3 11-16 d, light 3 13-16 d. New Zealand beef, 1801 bto 2201 b per quarter, fair average quality, ox forequarters 4d, hindquarters 44a. (Last weelfs quotations were : — Frozen mutton — Cross-bred wethers and maiden ewes, Canterbury 4|d, Dunedin and Southland 4 l-16d, North Island 3 15-16 d. Lamb —Prime Canterbury 4 13-16 d, fair fiverage (including Dunedin, Southland, Wellington and secondary Canterbury) 4 11-16 d. River Plate mutton, cross-bred or merino wethers, heavy and light '6 3-l6d each. New Zealand beef, 1801 b to 2201 b per quarter, fair average quality, ox forequarters 4£d, hindquarters 4|d.. Copper, on spot, £54 7s 6d per ton, three months' £54 12s 6d per ton. Silver\ls 11 15-16 d per oz. Wheat. — An Australian carg& sold at 29s 6d per quarter. Consols are quoted at 97.
