BOWLING.

AN ENGLISH TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA. United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph— Copyright. (Received Feb. 18, 10.46 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Feb. 18. The Secretary of the Imperial Bawling Association, England, has notified the Victorian Association that arrangements axe being made to send a team to Australia during the next bowling season. (As will be remembered, a team of Australian bowlers visited) Englandl and' Scotland last year, playing a large number of matches, with considerable success. While it was in England negotiations were opened up with the view to- an English team visiting the colonies. The proposal was well received at the time, and from English files to hand since it has been apparent that there would be no difficulty in getting a strong team together. In view of the spilt which occurred between the Australian and New Zealand' sections of the colonial team last .year, which ended in the New Zealanders. conducting a separate tour, it is doubtful if the Englishmen's arrangements ' will include a visit to tihis colony. It is probable, however, that an effort will be made to induce them to extend their tour to New Zealand. As this is the first time an English team of bowlers has journeyed so far, it is hoped that they will ba given an opportunity of meeting the cracks of this colony.) -
