The Sydney "Daily Telegraph," dealing with the suggestion of the "Times" that Australia should consider legislatively the legitimate susceptibilities of Japan in con* nection with the Anglo-Japanese treaty, warns Australia against the likelihood of the 5 Japanese Government using the alliance to press fpr a modification of the : legislation excluding Japanese and the possibility of the British Government proving amenable to the pressure. It concludes : " The determination of the people of Australia has suffered na modification. There is no> possibility of their considering foreign siuscep-. Abilities to the extent of tolerating the immigration of coloured people."
