Representations 'having been made to the Railway Department that the time taken by the trains travellißg between Chrktchurch and Southbridge was excessive, the Department has now made arrangements to accelerate the speed ifrom March 1. The mor«nin.g train from South'bridge to Ghristchurch will leave at eight o'clock instead of 7.40, and will arrive in Christchurch at 10 a.m. instead Ox 10.5, as now. The evening train will leave Christch-uroh at 4.30, arriving at Souttobridge at 6.30 instead of 6.40. The evening train from Southbridge to Christchurch will start at 4.10, as now, but Christchurcn. will be reached at 6.10 instead of 6.40, thus taking. 'half an hour off the journey. *„: . The morning train from Little River to Christchuroh will run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, starting *at 7.40 instead of 7.30, arrivin-g at Lincoln at 9 a.m., in time to connect with the Soutbißridge traia for town ; while the evening train on the same days will leave Lincoln at 5.25, after the arrival of the iSouth'bridige train from town. (Extra trains will be run from Little River on Thursday at 7.40 a.m. and 3.40 p.m., arriving at Lincoln respectively at 9 a.m. and' 5 ip.m., the return trains leaving Lincoln at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
