* CHRISTCHURCH. Friday, Feb. 14. (Before Mr R. C. Bishop,- J.P., and Mr J. Connall, J.P.) Drunkenness. — For this offence Sophia Tudhope was fined 10s and costs, in default seven days' imprisonment. — A male first offender, who did nob appear, was fined ss, in default, twenty -four hours' imprisonment. Vagrancy. — Mary Sutherland was charged with having insufficient lawful visible means of support. Accused pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to three months' imprisonment Avith hard labour. Alleged Theft. — Daniel Cooper, a young man, was charged that on Feb. 13 he did steal a bicycle valued at £513, the property of F. N. Adams. Sub-Inspector Black asked for a remand till Tuesday next, when the Stipendiary Magistrate could deal with the case. The remand was granted. Prohibition Order. — A prohibition order was granted against a woman, to take effect in Christchurch and surrounding districts for twelve months. Bye-law Case. — Thomas Brown, a boy of about sixteen, pleaded guilty to a charge of riding a bicycle upon a> footpath at Sydenham on Feb. 1. A fine of 10s and, costs was imposed.
