THE GOVERNOR AT CHEVIOT.

[From Our Correspondent.] CHEVIOT, Feb. 13. His Excellency the Governor and party drove this morning to Gore Bay and Port Robinson, returning by way of Domett Valley. They inspected the Bluff Road and other works, and were much impressed with the havoc caused by the earthquake of Nov. 16. At 2.30 p.m. to-day his Excellency laid the foundation of Sir John MKehzieVmembrial in the township. He then inspected the schools and drove by way of the dairy factory over other portions of the estate. The weather is lovely.
