A SWORD OF HONOUR.
There was a large and representative gathering at the Dunedin Town Hall yesterady afternoon, on the occasion of the formal presentation of a sword of honour, subscribed for by shilling subscriptions, to Lieutenant-Colonel Robin. The presentation Avas made by the Mayor, Avho explained that the SAvord Avas not to nahd yet, but he hoped that shortly the Mayoress would have the pleasure of buckling it on to Lieutenant^Colonel Robin, Avhom he congratulated on his appointment to the command of the Otago Volunteer district. The sword Avill bear the inscrption : — "Presented to Lieutenant-Colonel Robin by his fellow-citizens, in evidence of their esteem, and as a mark of appreciation of his services to the Empire in the South African war. Dunedin, Sept, 25, 1901." Colonel Robin replied briefly, thanking the people for 'their gift.
