THE CITY MORGUE.
I _■ _ — — ♦ No definite arrangement have yet been made as to the use of the newly-erected morgue by local bodies, but a recommendation -wall be ■brought before the City Council at its meeting this evening that each local body using the morgue for bodies from its district shall pay to the City Council the fee of £1 Is for each time it is used. This amount -will be placed to the fund for upkeep, cleaning, etc. With reference to the dei mand made on the police yesterday for the sum of £1 Is for Parkinson's case, it appears that Dr Sym.es made the claim without the authority of the city authorities. The position dn which the body was found renders it a very difficult matter to decide whether it was in the city, Sb Albans or the Tticcanton dnstrict. However, it is understood tha* in this" case the necessary funds will com© out of the estate.
