THE ROYAL VISIT.
The Acting-Mayor has received the following telegram irom Mr J. Holmes, the Government Reception Commissioner : — "It may interest you to know that his Worship the Mayor of Auckland, with the Reception Committee, has issued 1 a circular to every borough council, town board, county council and road board in the. Province of Auckland inviting their co-operation and financial assistance, so that they may the more effectually extend a hearty welcome from this province to their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York. Competitive designs for the citizens' arches have already been invited, the propcsed.^amount to be expended by the citizens being estimated at about £3000 in Auckland. The Gas Comp&nv has generously offered! to illuminate tae principal arch erected by the citizens." Mr T. E. Donne, superintendent of the Government Tourist Traffic and Health Resorts, had an interview with .the Actir.^Mayor this morning upon the neceaeary arrangements for the convenience of the Royal party during their visit to Ghrist«huTch. Mr Donne, who tbas all the supervision of the accommodation for the party in the various centres, -was at Coker s Hotel to-day making the necessary arrange* »ent3. .— -••■ - -M
