"The Ashburton volunteers will recruit up to 80 strong, instead of 60, as hitherto. The question of forming a mounted corps for Ashburton has found much favour • among yojiiiJßJ.'mera who would be eligible. Mr G. A! M". Buckley, having been pressed to take the initiative, has consented to do so, and a meeting will be called in a day or two.
