MANAWATU RACING CLUB.

[Pjsb Press Association.] PALMERSTON NORTH, Feb. 27. At a meeting ci the Manawatu Racing Club last evening it was decided to purchase one hundred acres of land at Awapuni, for a racecourse. The purchase money amounts to £4000. The new Course is about a mile and a half from the town and on the railway line.^ It is picturesquely situated, in close proximity to the Awapuni Lagoon, and has many natural advantages. The sandy, nature of the ground- will permit training operations to be carried out throughout the. year. The club's race meetings will, however, be held. on the present course for the nest four years.v It js contemplated that the outlay on the course, including the purchase money* will amount fr* £6000.
