The death is announced, at the age of fifty-eight, of Sir Peter O'Brien, the judge who tried the Irish Invincibles in 1882. [Per Press Association.] i AUCKLAND, Dec. 7. Mr Benjamin Cohen, a resident 6f Wellington for thirty years, died yesterday afternoon at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr J. Zirnan. He arrived here two years and a half ago. Mr David Ziman, formerly on the West Coast, is a son-in-law of the deceased. Mr Cohen's remains will be sent to Wellington to be buried alongside thosi of bis wife. • WELLINGTON, Dec. 7. The Rev E. Doddrell, Congregational Minister of Newtown> died rather suddenly this morning from- the effects of influenza. He came to Newtown from Richmond, Melbourne, eighteen months ago. He leaves a w;ife and sis children.
