SUPPOSED DESTRUCTION OF A BRIDGE. _____ » LADYSMITH SAFE. DURBAN, Dec. 4. General Hilyard located 500 Boers strongly posted north of Tugela, with many guns. A tremendous explosion, accompanied with a huge column of smoke, was heard. A subsequent reconnaissance was made, and it is believed that the explosion indicates the destruction of the railway bridge, though the road bridge is intact. Ladysmith was reported all well on Nov. 24.
