MONDAY'S WEATHER. From Observations Taken at 9 a.m. 'Heavy northerly winds prevailed in the North Island, and warm rains fell in many places in the north and as far south as Christchurch. The barometer reached its highest at Auckland, where it read 30.24, and its lowest at Farewell Spit, where it registered 29.86. The thermometer varied from 67 at Gisborne to 39 at the Bealey. The barometer at Christchurch was rising slowly. .-
