LICENSING COMMITTEES.

AVON. The annual meeting of the Avon Licensing Committee was held at noon to-day, at the Linwood Borough Council Office ; present — Messrs R. Beetham, S.M. (chairman), T. N. Horsley, W. Nicholls, J. Dilloway, A. Marshall and G. M'lntyre. Renewals of licenses were granted to the following: — Ellen Morgan, New Brighton Hotel ( *.j.r Cassidy) ; Jonn T. Moore, Bower Hotel (Mr Cassidy) ; and Henry Smith, Belfast Hotel. The police report was favourable, and stated that the recommendations in regard to fire escapes had been carried out. The yard of the Bower Hotel was in a rather dirty state, but the licensee promised- that this should be attended to.
