SWIMMING.

At a committee meeting of the Sydenham Amateur Swimming Club, a letter was read from the Borough Council relative to the water supply. As all, the trophies to be presented at the annual " social " to be held on Thursday were finished, it was resolved to put them on view at Mr Woodward's tobacconist's shop, Colombo Street, for a few days. As the sale of tickets had reached the limit, it was decided to stop giving out any more. The Rakaia Swimming Club wrote enclosing an order for £1 ls. Accounts were passed for payment, and after some routine business had been transacted, the meeting terminated.
