INSPECTION OF MEAT.

[Per Pbess Association.] WELLINGTON, Sept, 28. A meeting of delegates representing 'butchers throughout the colony was held to.day to consider the provisions of the Slaughtering and Inspection Bill. The main proposals of the measure were generally approved, but doubts were expressed as to the of pushing the Bill on this .session, and some difference of opinion existed as to whether public abattoirs should be established all over the colony, and private slaughter-houses abolished. The Auckland representatives favoured a continuation of private slaughter-houses, under proper control, supervision and inspection. Mr Hanson (Christ church) and Mr Moody .(Auckland) will wait on the Stock Committee on the subject to-morrow.
